Itching to get outside after tearing my Achilles in September, I couldn't pass up the ideal weather over Thanksgiving weekend and had to find somewhere to go. Already covered in snow and almost assured to provide an exquisite view, Artist Point seemed like an obvious choice.
The sun was out, the wind was bone-chilling and the views were certainly unmatched. Best of all, the snowfall makes the area accessible without looking over other tourist's cameras trying to get a peek at the scenery. Make no mistake, it was still busy, just far less then in the summer.
This is a fairly straightforward snowshoe trip. From the top parking lot at baker just follow the ski area boundary up to the top of the hill. Once at the top the route levels out and follows the highway to the top. For some great detailed info check out WTA's description.
