A moderately steep climb to small lake in the Chuckanut mountains. the lake was enjoyable but I had come for the view of Baker that it is supposed to have. As Washington goes the weather didn't like my plans so I will have to return sometime soon.
Another typical Chuckanut Mountain trail. You can here the freeway most of the way but it does disappear eventually. The view the day I went was blocked but it looked like it would have a great view of Mt Baker and the Twin Sisters.
A steep but fairly short climb to a rocky ledge on the west side of the Chuckanuts. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. It looks out over the islands and on good days you can see the mountains in British Columbia. The lakes are not that special but are still a joy to visit and provide camping opportunities
Miles: 4.9 for both loops Elevation Gain: 430 ft according to my GPS.
A pleasant walk through one of Bellingham's many wooded parks. There was a surprising amount of wild life along the trail for being so close to a populated area. Definitely take the side loop to Geneva Pond.
