It is sad to see so little snow in this basin in mid June. Normally you can barely get there in early August. Nonetheless, it was a perfect two days to make the trek. Clear sky for sunset, great sunrise and a frighteningly cold lake.
I was a bit dismayed at the excessive number of people on the trail as, in many of the narrow portions of the trail, it was difficult to pass people with our large packs on. Despite the highly increased traffic as a result of the closure of Monte Cristo, we found a superb camp site near the lake.
I attempted to climb Del Campo but, due to a fairly bad cut on my finger, was unable to grip the rock well enough to make it all the way to the top.

I may have needed a few stitches. Can't miss hiking
